Wehmeier Homestead  Bed & Breakfast is located just 2 miles southeast of Columbus, Indiana on a 40 acre grain farm.  During the summer, Barbados sheep graze in the pasture next to the hand hewn barn.

The 2-story red brick home was built around 1865 by Karl Hendrick Wehmeier who immigrated to the US from Gofeld Germany in 1861.  The homestead has remained in the family since that time.  Karl's great granddaughter, Dorothy Wehmeier Arnholt and husband Floyd restored the house in 1978.  Following her death in 1999 and Floyd's move to assisted living, their four children decided to renovate the house to accommodate a bed & breakfast.  Karl's great, great, granddaughter is the inn keeper.

Elizabeth Wehmeier, granddaughter of Karl Hendrick, was a self taught artist.  Several of her paintings are hanging in various areas in the home.  Observe the family's history on display in the foyer.
